Now as much as this one is impressive, both being a living ale that will age and stands at 11%, I wont be desperately hunting down another bottle of Straffe Hendrik anytime soon. Just wasn’t to my pallet or it is too much like the last bottle.
Hints of caramel maybe between a bunch of smells I cant put my finger on tonight. Good job nose. The taste itself is quite strong and has lots of little subtle flavours if you try hard to find them. The aftertaste lasted a long time and that was actually pleasant.
Probably doesnt help that I have also had a Samuel Smiths extra stout and a Smog Rocket while out in london today as well, which I enjoyed a bit more
