Haha when I first pulled the bottle out I thought to myself ‘aww a small one I’m quite thirsty tonight’ then saw the 10% strength and thought ‘Jackpot!’
Tonight we have Horn dog from the Flying dog brewer standing at 10.2%, which is glorious. Plus a seem to have a hidden weaken to barley wine style ales. My oh my the smell of barley is intense and somewhat addictive, if there are other aroma’s I’m missing them as I’m quite focused on this one aroma. The taste on the other hand isn’t as sweet, not as sickly sweet, as previous barley wine ales I have had, plus there is a slight bitter aftertaste compared to others. Which works as its makes you want to have another sip. The texture glides down easier than previous ones too, not as sticky or clingy. I also like the strength being present but not overpowering the taste.
Can’t tell wether I’m writing a beer review or a trash novel anymore. Good stuff basically.
