This is going to be one of the most simplest ones I have done. Old freddy walker here, from Moor beer company standing at 7.4%, is simple because the side of the bottle tells me everything. And I agree with everything. See black, yes I do. Smell treacle and rich fruit, yes I do. Taste rich chocolate and fruitcake, yes I, no wait what, theres plenty of burnt chocolate I give it that. Three out of five on the scale of bitter, nope its more like a one and a half out of five. Four out of five for sweet, nope again, it has sweetness like a maybe two point eight out of five.
Dont get me wrong, this is a delicious beer and I accept that having it bottle conditioned changes it slightly over time, and my own taste buds will differ from writer of said side of bottle blerb. You really do get hints of chistmas pudding in the aroma. as well as a serious smack of dark treacle in both aroma and taste. The strength is there but well hidden. I really expected it to be more clingy (how many times have I said that this advent calendar?) I find that it washes away quite quickly, only leaving you with a hint of aftertaste. But it does remain smooth and pleasant to drink.
