Eeeeuuuuugggghhhh this one is delicious! This ale is delicious! A slightly creamy thick head, so bitter (so good) to drink but no clingy bitter aftertaste, it leans on being too bitter but just manages to reign it in. Not an oily texture but very smooth very slick, a good medium body, the carbonation is present and its very welcome. Aroma’s are short, sweet and punchy with roasted darkness, and I guess roasted malts, darker berries and a little of the alcohol strength. The taste isnt actually to complex but it doesnt need to be when its this good. But the bitterness, the hops, very slight bit of sweetness, dark fruits and roasty maltiness are stunning. Even has a somewhat salty finish which of course makes you want more.
Oh come on this is also known as the Black shark, stop being so cool. This borderline love letter is for Imperial Black IPA from Camba Bavaria standing at 8.5%. This might just have to be reordered in January.
