Out of all the beers I ordered, I was looking forward to this one the most.

Cerveza De Los Muertos’ Porter Pay The Ferryman.  Back at the Clapham Grand Beer Festival a friend had one of the other beers from this company and it was rather nice.  Upon seeing they did a porter, I was rather hopeful.

While its a porter (definetly in look) it doesn’t particularly taste like one.  The normal coffee and chocolate tastes are either abscent or very muted.  It took a little while to place.

This time was spent shooting lots of guards and blowing up anything that has red all over it.  Just Cause 3 is proving to be a good collegue to the advent calendar.  I hacked so many SAM sites in one base that when the Captain showed up in a helicopter, he was shot down before I could even get to him.  The enemies seemed to destroy more of the base than I did.  You have to love AI sometimes.

Once the taste clicked, I realised that to me, it tasted of a smoked ale.  So similarities to the smokey German beer started going off in my brain but it doesn’t have the meatyness (totally not a made up word) that beer has.  Add in a low level of carbonation and this is a rather tasty beer.  Plus the art on the bottle looks really good.
