You will notice how little beer there is in the glass. It’s not that I took the photo after trying some. Most of the beer ended up either on my jeans, the floor, the coffee table and my camera. I hate to think the damage that would have been done if the cap had come off in one go.
So here we have All Bretts Are Off from Siren Craft Brew. Labelled as an “English Bitter” (the quotation marks are even on the bottle) and made with twelve types of Brettanomyces.
The first thing I noticed was the smell. There is something in the smell that really reminds me of proper Cornish scrumpy cider. The look is amazingly opaque. The taste is a little like a copper bitter. Sadly i’ve pretty much drunk it all writing this description. If I had been able to salvage more, I might have had a better idea of the taste. Oh well, hopefully the next one doesn’t explode.
