I remember getting this one just to torture myself I’m sure. Just on the off chance that I might have had a dodgy rye beer or two, but nope rye just doesn’t seem to be my kinda thing for beers. Thankfully another fear I had, the raspberry part, isn’t too sour. The aroma is raspberries, tarte raspberries, sour dough and yeast. The taste is rather tarte, short, punchy, a little watery and it does actually taste of raspberries, unlike many fruit beers of the past. I’m also glad that it doesnt make me think of juice but actually a beer, unlike many fruit beers of the past. Aftertaste is watery and clean. A very thin beer with very low carbonation. This has been Red raspberry rye from Buxton brewery standing at 4.9%. I will not be having it again.
