I’ve been looking forward to this one since I bought it a few days ago.
Siren Craft Brew and Cigar City Brewing’s Barrel Aged Caribbean Chocolate Stout. A tropical stout aged in bourbon barrels. The most noticeable element of this beer is the vanilla. Both in smell and taste. The blerb on the bottle also mentions whiskey and enhanced wood characteristics but since I don’t go around taking bites out of passing trees I will take their word on that one. Some chocolate is in there as well. The whiskey feel is more prominent in the aftertaste and rather pleasant. An odd thing to say but the aftertaste is similar to the mouthfeel of having a glass of whiskey. It’s a bit of a stronger one at 8.4% but doesn’t smack you over the head with it.
So that’s four good beers so far. I hope this trend continues!
