This beer is mad. Its a wheat beer that doesnt smell of hay. It just smacks you around with vanilla in every way it can. In its name, in the aroma, in the taste, etc. This beer is called Willy Vanilly from Alpine beer brewery standing at 5.5%. This was one of my joker cards, well beers, as I’m not a fan of american or wheat beers. But its fun if nothing else.
The aroma is mostly vanilla, grains and cardboard. Taste is very light on the wheat, very light on spice and just as the glass leaves your lips you get a whack of vanilla. Which you actually get used to pretty quickly (a pro or con depending on yours tastes), so you get a chance to discover other flavours, thought theres not many of them. Suprised by how uncloudy it is. The texture is somehow very low carbonation but it remains a little intrusive. With a clean crisp finish with no aftertaste to speak of. And yet, as I mentioned before, I still find this a fun drink. Hard to recommend as theres not much going on with it, but maybe worth a half pint to try it for yourself.
