Geek Pub Talk

This evenings beer is Northern Monk’s Festive Star Xmas Mocha Porter.  I’ve mentioned before that I really like Porters, so for this one to be different to the average Porter is quite nice.  I’m still sort of blocked up with a cold but the smell is kind of coffee but not really.  Its hard to describe.  The taste certainly has a chocolate to it.  I’m guessing this is where more of the mocha comes in.  I’m not a coffee person in the slightest so I can’t tell if these are delicate coffee flavours or something completely different.  But I do know I like it.  This review probably hasn’t been helped by spending most of the afternoon in Brewdog Soho trying lots of their different beers.
