Welcome to the first day of this years advent calendar. Scott introduced me to the idea of having a beer every day in December leading up to Christmas and writing about it, so let’s roll on with the first of this years beers.
Today we have Pedigree from Marston’s. An amber ale at 4.5%. It’s lighter in colour than the photo makes out. I think I might have screwed this one up as for once, I had food before the beer. Munching down on hot pizza probably isn’t the best for the inside of your mouth as I might have killed all of my taste buds. At least that would explain why I can’t taste anything in this beer. I can smell a light hopiness though. I’m very tempted to try this again on another day in the hopes it goes a bit better. Even if I did buy the beer because there is a man on the front who happens to resemble Archer. Turns out, that’s the head brewer that named the beer.
I decided to start this advent calendar extremely late. As in earlier today. So I have come up with the idea that all of my beers need to be bought in shops rather than an easy bulk order online. Luckily there is a Clapton Craft not too far from me so I should be fine! I might even try and write a few from local pubs.
