Yes this is the second Delirium but I loved the bottle design and it does say Christmas on it.
This one stands at 10%, must be another reason why I picked this, and straight away I can say that this one is nowhere near as fruity smelling as the previous. Even the taste isn’t fruity or sweet at all, its more strong alcohol than anything else, I would also say a little gassier as well. Not a fan at all really.
Well that was short and simple.
This drink is disappearing quickly so I better write about it now. Today we have ourselves a Delirium red by Brasserie Huyghe Brewery standing at 8%. Yes that elephant has cherries as earrings and yes I mainly picked this purely for the funky bottle design.
The photo doesn’t do it justice but it is a really red drink. And yes the first and only real aroma is cherry. Taste wise the strength is well hidden, when it first touches your lips you think ‘oh theres not much…’ but then get smacked in the face with a very sweet and sharp fruity taste that remains during the aftertaste. I also thought there was a hint of cranberry as it has a the same kind of sharpness, but the bottle label tells me otherwise. Which also informed me of elderberries being present. After really concentrating (doesn’t happen often) I can just get the elderberry at the back of my throat.
This is a pleasant drink that glides down, nothing special but it does leave me feeling happy
