This Is Amazing. It is already on my to buy list after this advent calendar, as a living beer with a short six month shelf life, I really wanna try one that I’ve kept for a while to see how the taste has changed.
Dog Bolter, Gadds, Ramsgate brewery, good job. This dark porter standing at 5.6% first smell was like welcoming an old friend. Warm, malty, roasty aromas, plus couldn’t put my finger on another familiar smell, which I now know to be chocolately notes. The colour is what’s to be expected of a dark porter. The taste was nice at the start but just got better and better. A really smooth velvet drink with good body, an ever so slight hint of bitterness and then the deep chocolately, malty flavours come in, just real nice. Also the head isn’t something I have previous noticed so far during this advent calendar, this one is almost creamy, complimenting the rest of the drinks flavours completely.
So yeah I’m a little head over heels with this drink. (Hense the silly photo. Love that tshirt too)
[Colin’s note – a good porter – order more now!! then let me have some 🙂 ]
